I went and bought SPORE Origins for iPhone. Nicelely done, and a harmless distraction. (Grrr, those missile-shooting centipede critters really mess me up!)
The evolution-vs-creation debates over SPORE seem way overblown too me - a case of reading way too much into a silly game. After all, SPORE Origins seems to me like any action game, but this time with a bio-inspired "skin"; change the skin to, say, an asteroid mining ship pursued by aliens while searching for "energy crystals", which are used to purchase tech upgrades... and you've got the same game, really.
But that's only Origins; the full SPORE game is clearly something more. I haven't played that, so will have to remain curious over whether it really delves into such important themes.

Where do we find a precept in the Bible for Creeds, Confessions, Doctrines and Oaths, and whole carloads of other trumpery that we find religion encumbered with in these days?
